WHERE IS CUBA GOING? (A TANIT debate that began 14/9/2010)
Saturday, November 13th, 2010In mid September 2010 the Cuban government announced that it intended to lay off up to 1 million workers. The Cuban state traditionally employs almost every kind of worker including hard dressers, taxi drivers etc. The plan was to encourage small-scale private enterprise and co-operatives to provide these kind of services in the future. This significant development sparked off an introductory debate among the members of the TANIT list about the direction that Cuba is heading in, the nature of the regime, what the orientation of political work should be carried out there, and so on.
